PHILOSOPHY OF PREDICTION - PREDICTION AND EVOLUTION

PREDICTION IS FORESEEING THE FUTURE

EVOLUTION AS A THEORIE IS TRYING TO EXPLAIN HOW THE WORLD HAS BEHAVED BEFORE,AND MAY BE HOW IT WILL BEHAVE IN THE FUTURE. 

CAN EVOLUTION BE USED AS A PREDICTION FOR THE FUTURE OF WORLD?

LOGICAL APPROACH

In chemistry we can predict the outcome of experiences.

In physics the prediction of outcomes are more and more accurate.

In biology the same.

These domains of knowledge contains the core of science in their essence. They are in their outcomes predictive by essence.

The theorie of Evolution is trying to do the same trending to be a predictive science.

We see it on films we see it on television: Evolution is now synonym of fiction.

Without debating which part of our knowledge can be related to science, lets agree on the reality that predicting outcomes in human knowledge, is a fact and that trying to predict the future of experiments, or the outcomes of past and present scientific laws  is one of the goals of science and human knowledge.

The idea is that if the thing to be explained is a logical, deductive consequence of the premises and the universal laws, then you have explained it. Once you have explained it and put down the laws of it’s fulfillment and a theory for it’s form, then you can predict that a phenomenon will occur if the initial conditions are right, based on the universal laws of physics, chemistry…

This permits only  results in the form of:  If…. then

Since evolution cannot make predictions of this kind, and in fact any outcome is compatible with the theory, its critics say that evolution is not a complete science.

Evolution tends to stay on the doubtful side of statistics, in the form of : x or y

However, there are problems with this highly idealised view of scientific explanation, and anyway, I will argue it doesn't affect evolution.

Any set of laws are ideal simplifications. In order to predict where a planet is going to be in 10,000 years, you have to ignore many things, such as the very small bodies, the influence of distant stars and galaxies, friction due to solar wind, and so forth. And it works, to a certain  degree. But that degree is still real. You may only be off a few meters, but you will be off, due to these ignored complications. Physical systems of this kind are stable, in that the initial conditions, with their miniature adjustments and small bugs do not greatly affect the outcome. On the other hand if we consider a fixed and closed system like the  human body with all  it’s complications  we can see that taking off for example the spleen or appendicit will not affect much it’s presence health or overall work. This is true in electronics and software : bugs do not effect the main stream operation and you may still have an operation  and machine working without excessive adjustments.

PAST-PREDICTING

Who says that prediction is foreseeing  the future only?

Is predicting goes only  for the future outcome ?

The special case of the evolution theory:

Evolution has past-predict with accuracy the history of species . Despite  the highly sensitive initial conditions and the boundary conditions that arise during the course of evolution, Evolution have predicted sometimes  what species would come before another one and sometimes with accurate visual description, very accurate that most fossils sites were discovered only through logical and scientific deductions and not merly statistics.

It is the same logical approach to archeology but with a more deep scientific touch: the introduction of natural phenomenons that  occurred during transformation of species, thus enabling the discoveries to be conducted accurately with two impredictible and inaccurate factors as weather and climatic ages.People working on the Evolution scale with this past-predicting factors in mind have brought to attention two things:

the possible return to the past

and the possible forward to the future.

We can notice that in astrophysics the same process was made to uncover the black holes and the wide span of the universe

All The theories of  physics  are on the same length wave

All sections of the human knowledge can past-predict events by mere deduction like science.

If Evolution can past-predict it can also forepredict.

MUTATIONS

If we cannot predict with accuracy how species will change and what other events will perturb their development  over time we can however assert that species will somehow mutate.

Mutations are less deconstructive than evolution and more rapid.

We saw it with nuclear power and with cancer. Cells can mutate due to external perturbations.We can produce breads both in plants and animals.Moreover, people themselves can make selections by choosing each others for marriage from different ethnicities.

Powers can bread people by choosing the best among them and killing others.

Egyptians made a bread of big muscled men to construct the pyramids

All the armies of the world choose big healthy men for special forces, and in some contries there are villages and dedicated to serve in the army, specially for their stature

Basketball is making a natural selection for very tall men.

Who could imagined muscles can grow as big as that with body building ?

Jokeys are of the same size

Somali tribes are breading themselves for long and thin

And don't forget Hitler….

Mutations are possible they are a reality.

They will be more visible in the future when  cloning will be legalized.

One of the most incredible series in tv is the SUPERNATURAL series where people are shown with extra powers and capabilities. 

In this serie you can see that predicting the behavior of the body for certain sports and new challenges is very accurate because the participants have their lifes in stake.

So they predict the exact transformations and behavior of their muscles and even their internal cells before taking the physical challenge:

Who could predict that a man would jump from a 10 meters high in a plastic children pool with 30 cm heigh of water on his chest without hearting himself or dying?

The man predicted by intuition his success and the behaviorof his body  with only indoor pool training.
Brain have a big role in these challenges and mutations will occur in the future primarily at brain and spiritual levels.
We see it in all math and memory competitions.
The brain will be  the central part of change.
The brain neurons have the ability to adapt more rapidly than any other cell group.

The properties of many biological processes and systems can be predicted even with intuitions , and moreoften with personnal intuition. A biological event, has the same structure as a physical event. Some people know this by intuition and therefore can makle things others can not do without hearting themselves: These are the forefront of mutants, men with extraordinary capabilities that can survive some conditions while others can't

How far can this go?

Year after year this seems to go very far.
